      • The messiah would come from the house of David
      • He would be righteous
      • He would reign/rule as king
      • The messiah would rule/deal wisely
      • He would execute justice in the land/execute righteousness
      • He would bring salvation upon Judah
      • He would provide security/safety in Israel
      • He would be called lord our righteousness

    2. Describe the incident in which Mary visited Elizabeth (Luke 1:39-56)
      • After angel Gabriel left Mary, she went to the city of Judah.
      • Mary entered Zachariah’s home.
      • When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greetings the baby in her womb leaped with joy.
      • Mary greeted Elizabeth.
      • Elizabeth was filled with the holy spirit
      • Elizabeth exclaimed with a loud cry
      • She blessed Mary and the child in the womb.
      • Elizabeth wondered why may the other of her lord had come to visit her.
      • Elizabeth informed Mary that the baby in her womb had leaped with joy in her greetings.
      • Mary responded by praising god
      • Mary stayed with Elizabeth for three months.

      • Christians learn that they should be righteous before god.

    1. Describe the healing of the paralytic man (Luke 5:17-26) (8mks)
      • on one of those days as Jesus was teaching, there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by/who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem/the power of the lord was with him to heal.
      • Men were bringing on bed a man who was paralyzed; they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles in the midst before Jesus.
      • When he saw their faith he said” man your sins are forgiven”
      • The Pharisees and scribes questioned in their heart why he forgave sins/accused him of blasphemies.
      • He asked which one was easier to say your sins are forgiven/rise and walk/he told the man to raise take up his bed and go home.
      • Immediately he rose before them took up that on which he lay and went home glorifying god.
      • Amazement seized them all, they glorified god/were filled with awe saying we have seen great things today.

    2. Outline six events that took place during the transfiguration of Jesus (Luke 9:28-37) 6mks)
      • Jesus took with him Peter, James and john and went to the mountain to pray.
      • As he was praying the appearance of his countenance was altered/his garment became dazzling white.
      • Two men Moses and Elijah appeared in glory/spoke of his departure which was to accomplish in Jerusalem.
      • The disciples fell asleep/when they woke they saw his glory and the two men partying from him.
      • Peter suggested that they make three booths.
      • Cloud came and over shadowed them/they were afraid as they entered the cloud.
      • A voice came out of the cloud saying “this is my son my chosen listen to him”
      • Jesus was found alone.
      • They kept silence and told no one in those days what they had seen.

    3. State six lessons Christians learn about Jesus from the healing of the paralytic man (6mks)
      • Jesus has power to heal
      • Jesus is the son of god.
      • Jesus is courageous.
      • Jesus is compassionate/loving/caring.
      • Jesus has power to forgive sins
      • Jesus knows the heart of the people.

    1. Give the instructions Jesus gave to the seventy-two men he sent them on a mission (Luke 10:1-24) (6mks)
      • they were to pray for more laborers to be sent for the harvest was huge
      • they were not to carry any bag, purse or sandals.
      • They were not to salute anyone on the road.
      • They were to say peace to any house they entered.
      • They were to say peace to any house/not to go from house to house.
      • They were to heal the sick.
      • They were to eat or drink what was provided.
      • They were to tell people that the kingdom of god was near.
      • They were to wipe off dust from their feet against the people if they were not received.

      • A man had had two sons/the younger one requested to be given his share of inheritance.
      • The father divided his property between them.
      • Days later the son gathered all that he had/took his journey to far country/where he squandered his property in loose living
      • Great famine arose in the country/he begun to be in want.
      • He went to one of the citizens/was sent to feed swine/he fed on the pods that the swine ate.
      • He came back to his senses/left to go and apologise to the father.
      • While he was still at a distance the father saw him and had compassion/embraced him/kissed him/made merry.
      • When the eldest came, he heard the music /called one of the servants and enquired what is meant.
      • His father assured him that all he had was his/his brother had died but now is alive

      • To encourage sinners to accept God’s word
      • To slow consequences of loose living
      • To encourage people realize their sinfulness/be willing to reconcile/repent.

      • To show gods unconditional forgiveness.
      • To warn against judging others/condemning others.

      • They declare the wonderful deeds of god testifying about god/led a life of worshipping God.
      • They were called from darkness to light.
      • They were once not a people/they were outside the covenant way of life.
      • They are led by the mercies of god/have received God’s grace.

      • Some Christians pretend that they have a certain gift of the Holy Spirit.
      • By asking for payment before healing the sick.
      • Christians misuse the gift of prophecy by giving wrong information/false prophecy.
      • Some Christians may impact demonic powers on the innocent/ignorant as they claim to perform miracles.
      • Some Christians who possess the gifts of the holy spirit develop pride/arrogance.
      • Some use the gifts to bring division in the church creating splinter groups.
      • Some Christians refuse to utilize the gifts they possess/personalize the gift.
      • Speaking in tongues during worship leads to disorder confusion if the tongues are not interpreted/understood

      • African communities believe that the family was instituted by god.
      • Family is made through marriage and procreation.
      • Traditional African family is a socio-religious unit because it is within the family that all important religious and social activities occur.
      • African family is the Centre for education and religious morals for example children are taught obedience to the elders and those of undesired characters are corrected at the family levels
      • Forming a family was a sacred duty to all members of the family.
      • An African family is extended family with parents, children, cousins, uncles and grandparents etc.
      • Polygamy is highly regarded/accepted.
      • The man is the head of the family.
      • Grandparents are highly valued.
      • Children are very important I a traditional African family.
      • Sharing of food, work and helping each other in terms on need enhance harmony and mutual responsibility at the family level.

      • It involves taking advantage of the ignorant players
      • It is addictive/can become a compulsive habit.
      • It interferes with family budget/priorities/can bring misunderstanding in the family
      • It can lead to violence /loss of life.
      • It can lead to stress/illness
      • It shows lack of trust/dependence upon god
      • It can lead to poverty/time wasting.
      • There is no security on the wealth/money/one put in the gambling.
