      • scientific study of the description of earth as the home of mankind
   2. Environment (1mk)
      • environment refers to all external conditions that surrounds an organism and which influences its behavior / activities
2. Differentiate between physical geography and human geography (2mks)
   • Physical geography is the branch of geography that deals with natural natural environment while human geography is the study of people and their activities on earth surface
3. Explain relationship between Geography and the following disciplines 
   1. Mathematics (2mks)
      • Geography uses mathematical principles and formular during the following a)calculation of time within longitudes
      • calculation of area on maps
   2. History (2mks)
      • Geography attempts to explain how historical events affect current human activities on the earth, historians are geographical tools such as maps to show migration of people in the past

   • Is a group of heavenly bodies comprising of sun, planets and other small heavenly bodies orbiting round the sun
6. State the weakness of the passing star theory (5mks) 
   • theory fails to explain the origin of the sun and the star
   • chances of another star approaching the sun are minimal
   • effect of the star would have reduced by new if it sets the planets in motion
   • the sun could have been broken up by gravitational force of the sun
   • high temperature materials drawn from the sun or the star would have dispersed rather than condense

8. Explain two reasons why the interior of the earth is still very hot (4mks)
   • Weight of overlying materials on the crust exerts a lot of pressure towards the centre of the earth which generates  a lot of heat
   • breakdown of radioactive elements especially in the mantle region releases a lot of energy which is trapped in the interior
   • during the formation of the earth, outer parts cooled faster than the inner part
