    • It contains many books.
    • The books were written by different authors.
    • They were written at different times in history.
    • The writers were from different backgrounds.
    • They wrote under different circumstance.
    • Were written for different audience.
  4. List the five examples of pastoral letters. (5mks)
    • 1st Timothy.
    • 2nd Timothy.
    • Titus
    • Philemon
    • Hebrews.
  5. Describe the process of Bible translation from original to local languages. (6mks)
    • Original language of Old Testament was Hebrew.
    • The original language of New Testament was Greek.
    • The Old Testament was translated into Greek by the sevent scr
    • Jerome a Greek scholar translated the Bible into Latin and named it Vulgate
    • Johann Ludwig Krapf translated a German New Testament Bible into Kiswahili.
    • The Bible society of Kenya in conjuction with translation and literacy organization (BTL) translated it into smaller languages such as Kikuyu, Meru, Kalenjin, Luhya, Pokomo, Redile etc
  6. Explain five effects of Bible translation. (5mks)
    • Led to development of formal education.
    • Led to expansion of the church.
    • Led to emergency of African independent churches and school.
    • Many African were converted into Christian.

  13. Outline five ways in which Abraham demonstrated his faith in God. (5mks)
    • Accept to move from Haran to Canaan.
    • Obeyed Gods’ command to circumcise his son.
    • Accepting Gods command to sacrifice his own son Isaac.
    • Believing God when he was told he would have a son at an Old age.
    • Believing God when he was told he would be father of great nations.
  14. Differentiate between the first and the second accounts of creation. (5mks)
    • In the first account human being were created last while in the second account they were created fist.
    • The first account of creation is out of nothing while the second account is out of already existing things.
    • In the first account, firmament, light, sun, moon, starts are included while in the second account they are not mentioned.
    • The planting of the garden and making of the river are in the second account but omitted in the first account.
    • In the first account man and woman were created at the same time while in the second account man is created from dust while woman is from man’s rib.
    • In the first account of creation marriage is for procreation while in second account marriage is for companion.
    • In the second account there is mentioning of forbidden tree but it is omitted in the first account.
