How to answer cloze tests correctly

First, read with no answers slowly 
Then, read again attempting to answer 
Trust your attempts then answer
Don't forget to do much practice.

1-Read the instructions given before the text
2-Read the incomplete text without filling it
3-Read again as you try to understand the message in it and fill with answers that can possibly fit in
4-Check the tenses used and look for the correct answer regardless of the possible answers you gave
5-Read the incomplete text again together with the answers to see if the text makes sense
