How is a parasitic cone formed?

  1. Pressure is reduced causing the magma from the interior to reach the top of the volcano.
  2. The upper parts of the main vent of the volcano is blocked.
  3. Pressure pulls up the magma escape through aside vent.
  4. The successive out pouring of magma builds alternative layers of ash and lava to form a conelet on the side of the composite volcano.
  5. The cone let is the parasitic cone.
