  2. Agrarian revolution led to increase in food, thus increased population and populated settlements became urban centres.
  3. Domestication of plants and animals led to settled life and there settlements developed into urban areas.
  4. Production of surplus food led to trade – trading centres became towns.
  5. Development of mines during the industrial revolution led to development of urban centres around mines.
  6. Ports used to export and import items developed into urban centres.
