In life what may seem candid to the eye may not be what it really is and may also bring tremendous losses to one's life. This is clearly seen in certain instances in the pearl from characters such as Kino.
Firstly, Kino finds a great pearl unbeknownst to the pearl will dearly cost him.The author tells us that through the pearl Kino saw himself and his family altogether with new clothes , getting married in church,getting baby Coyotitto baptised and perhaps a rifle for himself envisioning his brighter future ahead. This all goes down the drain when the family is attacked and hunted for the pearl of the world. For the sake of his family Kino is forced to turn wild inoder to defend his family this entails killing the thieves and in the process of running away their one and only child Coyotitto dies .
This clearly proves thought the pearl was huge and shiny worth a hundred thousand pesos it came with it's cons greater then its price and that is coyotitto's life.
