The diagram below shows a pith ball in a flask. When a jet of air is blown over the mouth of the flask, the pith ball is found to rise from the bottom. Explain this observation

1. The air velocity at the top of the flask is high hence low pressure.
2. The high pressure inside the flask makes the ball to rise.
