- Prophet Isaiah foretold that he Messiah would be born of a virgin/ young woman
- He would be called Emmanuel
- He would be a wonderful counsellor/mighty God/everlasting father/ prince of peace
- The Messiah would have an everlasting kingdom
- He would be a ruler from the house of David
- He would rule with justice/righteousness /peace
- The messiah would be simple/ordinarily humble/nothing attractive
- He would be rejected/despised/ignored
- He would suffer for the forgiveness of the sins of many It would be the will of God for him to suffer
- The messiah would succeed in his work/be exalted

- The time for Elizabeth to deliver came/she gave birth to a son

- Simon wondered why Jesus allowed a sinner to touch him/if Jesus was a prophet he should have known this woman was a prostitute
- Jesus knowing his thoughts answered him by giving a parable of a creditor and two debtors.
- One debtor owed a creditor five hundred denarii while the other owed fifty denarii
- Both debtors were unable to pay/the creditor cancelled both debts
- Jesus asked Simon who would love the creditor more
- Jesus then told Simon that the sinful woman had shown a lot of love for him because her many sins had been forgiven
- Jesus then told the woman that her faith had saved her/told her to go in peace /her sins had been forgiven
- Those who were at the table wondered who was that that had forgiven sins.
