DESIGN PROBLEM (40 marks)

When out for camping activities, convenient sleeping facilities may prove to be a challenge. Design a camping bed considering the following:

1. It should be collapsible and convenient to carry along.
2. It should have standard length and convenient height.
3. It should be stable when in use.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Make rough sketches of two possible designs.(6 marks)
2. Select one of the designs in (a) above and make a refined labelled pictorial drawing(12 marks)
3. Make pictorial sketches showing the working mechanisms for
   1. consideration 1 above(12 marks)
   2. consideration 3 above(4 marks)
4. Name two materials used in the design and state where each is used.(4 marks)
5. State two methods of joining applicable in the design(2 marks)
