    1. Describe the covenant ceremony between God and Abraham. (8marks)
      1. Abraham was in doubt for the promise of a son.
      2. God assured him that his own son would inherit him and not Eliezer of Damascus.
      3. God showed Abraham the many stars and confirmed that his decedents would be as the stars.
      4. God asked Abraham to bring him a heifer, a goat, a ram, each three years old, a dove and a young pigeon.
      5. Abraham cut the animals into and arranged the halves in two rows.
      6. The birds were not cut.
      7. He drove away the birds of prey that targeted the carcasses.
      8. At sunset Abraham fell into a deep sleep.
      9. God spoke to him giving the promise that his descendants would be slaves for four hundred years but He would set to liberate them.
      10. Abraham was promised a long peaceful life. Good old age.
      11. Abraham saw God pass through the carcasses in form of a smoking fire pot and a flarming torch. (1x8 = 8marks)

      1. Death of King Ahab would be in the same place/valley of Jezebel like Naboth.
      2. Evil would be upon Ahab
      3. God was to take away the prosperity of Ahab/his rule would come to an end.
      4. Dogs would lick the blood of Ahab
      5. All the male children free/slaves would be cut off.
      6. The lineage of Ahab would be wiped out.
      7. The dogs would eat anybody who belongs to the family of Ahab who died in the city.
      8. The birds of the air would eat all who die in the field.
      9. The dogs will eat the body of Jezebel.

      6. They should make good use of the nation's resources/not be extravagant/economic debt

      1. Major Prophets - their messages/books are elaborate/detailed
      2. Minor Prophets - they have short /brief messages
      3. Canonical prophets- they are prophets whose utterances are recorded in books that bear their names
      4. Non-Canonical prophets- they are prophets whose oracles/messages have been compiled by other authors
      5. Cultic- they are prophets whose duties were associated with places of worship
      6. Early prophets- were sent by God for specific tasks                                            (1x6 = 6 marks)
    2. Explain ways in which the rich oppressed the poor during the times of prophet  Amos. (8marks)
      1. The rich took people’s garment in pledge.
      2. The poor were robbed of their food/gains/belongings
      3. Merchants overcharged the poor when selling them anything.
      4. The poor were sold for a piece of silver/air of shoes as they were considered useless.
      5. The goods sold to the poor were unfit for human use/consumption/expired.
      6. The poor were cheated in business deals as the rich used faulty scales/measures
      7. The poor were sold into slavery when they were unable to pay their debts to the rich.
      8. The poor were denied justice in the law courts because they could not bribe the judges.

    3. Give reasons why Christians find it difficult to help the needy in Kenya today.       (6marks)
      1. There are too many needy cases.
      2. Tribal/ethnic feelings may hinder one from giving assistance to the needy.
      3. Political leaning/affiliations influence Christians against helping those who do not belong to their   camp.
      4. Lack of what to share/inadequacy
      5. Indifferences of some Christians to the light of the needy.
      6. Denominational differences where some Christians are not ready share with those who do not belong to their group.
      7. Poor communication/infrastructure in some parts of the country that make impossible to reach   the needy.
      8. It is difficult to identify the genuine needy cases.
      9. Misappropriation of resources meant for assisting the needy discourages Christian from contributing.

      6. Ezra led people in prayer of confession
      7. They scaled the covenant by signing an agreement under the leadership of Nehemiah and the priest.
