- Naboth rejected this since the vineyard was his inheritance.
- Ahab returned to his house when so gloomy/ Saddened. Lying on his bed refusing to eat.
- His wife Jezebel enquired why he was sad. She assured him of getting the vineyard of Naboth.
- Jezebel wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sent them to the elders.
- The elders acted as the letter instructed them. The two witnesses were identified to bear false witness against Naboth.
- Naboth was accused of blasphemy. He was stoned to death and they sent the message to Jezebel.
- Ahab went and possessed the vineyard.
- God sent Elijah to proclaim punishment to Ahab.
- Ahab’s house was cursed.
- Jezebel was to be eaten by the dog. Ahab put on sack clothes and fasted.
- God softened his punishment toward Ahab. (7x1)
