- Nathan’s prophecy that God would make David’s descendant rule over Israel is affirmed by Angel Gabriel to Mary during annunciation
- Jesus was born by a virgin was prophesied by Isaiah
- Isaiah’s prophecy that the Messiah would be called Immanuel is fulfilled by Angel Gabriel’s message to Joseph
- Jesus suffered rejection and humiliation as Isaiah had prophesied
- Jesus fulfilled psalmist prophecy by being betrayed by his close friend Judas
- Isaiah prophecy about the messiah who would work miracles was fulfilled throughout miracles Jesus performed in his ministry
- Micah’s prophecy was fulfilled as Jesus was born in Bethlehem

- The birth of Jesus was announced to Mary his mother while that of John the Baptist was announced to Zechariah the father
- The conception of John was ordinary while that of Jesus was extra – ordinary
- Jesus would be the son of the most high God while John would pre-pare the way for the lord
- The birth of Jesus was announced to a virgin (not yet married) while that of John was to a childless couple
- Mary was in Nazareth in Galilee during annunciation while Zechariah was in the temple in Judas

- On a Sabbath Jesus entered the synagogue and taught
- A man was there whose right hand was withered
- The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely whether he would heal on the Sabbath so that they might find an accusation against him
- Jesus knew their thoughts and told the man to arise and stand
- He arose and stood
- Jesus asked them if it was lawful to do good on the Sabbath or evil to save life or to destroy
- He looked around at them all he told the man to stretch out his hand
- He did so and his hand was restored as whole as the other
